A Quilt Making its Way Across the World

Here are three quilts...two are unknown to us, but the one on the right is made by Dakota County Star Quilters. It is a quilt made from our 2014 community service blocks. It was sent to Quilts Beyond Borders, and a QBB volunteer quilted it for us. The fact that it now appears in this picture means that it has arrived at the home of a regional rep for QBB, and it will be packed up with other quilts to send to one of their projects. They currently have a few for which they will be sending out quilts this fall. One is to Syrian refugees. I'm not familiar with any other project details.

Over the next year or so, let's watch QBB photos and see if we happen to catch this quilt helping cuddle a child somewhere around the globe. Wouldn't that be exciting??

August Meeting -- Pretty Ugly

At our August meeting we revealed our Ugly Challenge quilts... quilts made from Ugly FQs we drew from a bag.

The ugly ducklings became beautiful swans don't you think?

Interested in attending our guild? Our next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7:00 PM at the Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway, Eagan, MN. We meet downstairs to the left past the reception desk; look for Dakota County Star Quilters label on one of the doors and come on in!
